The Spaces in Between is an abstract floral printed on linen by Sydney artist Carolyn Quan. Hand-painted on canvas, this design began as raw, unstructured colour and movement, before Carolyn turned the process inside out, painting the negative space around the flowers rather than the flowers themselves.
A few carefully placed petals and leaves emerge from the abstract background, creating a layered and artistic print. The result is a floral fabric that reads like a contemporary art bouquet - perfect for the sewist drawn to expressive, gallery-worthy design. A colourful medium scale floral painting on a soft blushing peach background.

Caring for your Linen Fabric
For the best results please follow these care instructions:
- Wash inside out ≤30°C on gentle cycle before use
- Do not use bleach or softeners
- Line dry in shade
- Iron low on reverse
- Do not dry clean
- Shrinkage is approx. 5%
Ordering
1 unit = 0.25 metres
4 units = 1 metre
Each order will be cut as one continuous length. If you want to check the colours or fabric weight we suggest ordering a swatch sample first.
Samples
You can order a 10x10cm sample swatch to check the colour & quality is right for your project, please note these are cut randomly and may not show all colours on the design.
If you require a larger piece please purchase 0.25m (1 unit).
FREE SHIPPING within Australia, your swatches will be sent in a standard envelope without tracking. NZ letter shipping fee $3AUD no tracking, sorry we can't ship samples for other international customers at this stage.

The inherent nature of linen fabric means there are often uneven threads (slubs) and minor imperfections in the fabric. This is a natural texture and is not considered a flaw in the fabric.
For our printed fabrics it's possible that there could be minor areas that have not been printed due to small fibres or slubs.
Refunds or exchange will not be issued based on this alone, and will be at our discretion. By purchasing the product you accept these features. If you have any questions about your fabric please contact us.
