Refund policy

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return if the goods are damaged, faulty or if you received the wrong item. 

Please be aware returns, exchanges or refunds for change of mind will be assessed on a case by case basis at the discretion of Rare Patterns - after all we want you to be happy with your purchase. You have the option to purchase fabric swatches to check colours, scale and quality before purchasing meterage, please consider this is if you are unsure. We may charge up to 20% restocking fee for approved exchanges. 

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused/unwashed and uncut. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. For change of mind the buyer (you) is responsible for all return postage fees, any original postage fees will not be refunded, and new postage fees will be charged (for change of mind exchange only).

To start a return/exchange/refund, you can contact us at hello@rarepatterns.com.au or you can reply to your order confirmation email. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a pre-paid return shipping label (excludes change of mind), as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. 

The more information you can provide the quicker we can assess your return claim. Please take photos and include in your email.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right as soon as possible.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY - The inherent nature of linen fabric means there are often uneven threads (slubs) and minor imperfections in the fabric. This is a natural texture and is not considered a flaw in the fabric. Refunds will not be issued based on this alone and will be at our discretion. By purchasing the product you accept this feature.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like custom products (such as special orders or personalised items). Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item. Please be aware returns, exchanges or refunds for change of mind are accepted at the discretion of Rare Patterns.

International returns or exchanges will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Please check your order carefully to avoid unwanted items or postage/customs fees. 

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on remnants, sale items or gift cards.

 

Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the exchange is accepted you will need to make a selection for the new item. We will only send you a replacement or exchange of goods once the original item has been received.
We cannot guarantee exchange for another item if it becomes out of stock in the time it takes for us to receive the original item/s. If you want to secure limited stocked items we suggest you make a separate purchase and retain your exchange for credit for a future purchase. 
For change of mind exchange of product the buyer (you) is responsible for all return postage fees, any original postage fees will not be refunded, and new postage fees will be charged (for change of mind exchange only).


European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn/unused/uncut, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. The buyer (you) will be responsible for return postage fees and original postage fees will be deducted from your original purchase amount.


Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. Original postage fees will not be refunded.
