Spring Sewing Inspiration with the Carolyn Quan Collection
Share

Spring always feels like the season for bold choices - lighter layers, brighter colours, and the kind of makes you really want to be seen in. This year, that feeling is wrapped up in our Carolyn Quan collection, and we've loved seeing what our sewing community has created with it.
This collection has found its way into some genuinely beautiful makes already. We asked our community to make some garments to showcase this fabric collection, and they delivered with stunning results. See what these sewists have made, fabric and pattern details and links are included, as well instagram handles to see more and follow along on their sewing journeys.

- Pairing a bold large-scale print (like Punk Petals or Bountiful Joy) with a simple silhouette lets the fabric do the talking

- Softer prints like Painterly Peonies suit flowier, romantic patterns - think ruffles and scalloped edges

-
Mixing a printed piece with plain linen separates for everyday wear, think about adding a contrast binding in the patterned fabric to make a matching set (but still keeps them as separates).
I couldn't resist making my own project - the Milo Dress by My Keeper, sewn in our Bountiful Joy linen. I chose this dress because you don't have to print out a pattern, it's just a series of rectangles based on the fabric width and your measurements. I also love the flowing sleeves and tie waist. Be sure to check back for updates of the final finished dress!
